Trackir For Mac
Testing TrackIR 5 in X-Plane 10 on a Mac!!! Flight in a cloudless sky.thx for watching:D Many thanks to the developers of Linuxtrack, to make this possible!! There are some issues in the vid, sorry for that:/ Addons used in this video: Beechcraft F33A Bonanza by Carenado FlyTampa's FlySt. Maarten (converted with Marginal's FS2XPlane) (Clouds Gold Edition 10.20) Eport Aviation Graphics: Tropical Skycolors (sorry ☹ only for subscribed users) Simulator: X-Plane 10.20 (64 bit) Global Settings: HDR 2xSSAA+FXAA Tons of objects Trees populated Extrem texture resoulution Resolution: 2560 x 1440 System: iMac 27' (Late 2012) 3,4 GHZ Quad-Core Intel i7 3770 Nvidia GTX 680MX 2 GB DDR5 8 GB RAM 1 TB Fusion Drive.
I just learned that TrackIR does not work on a Mac (serious bummer). I'm wondering if anyone has found a similar solution for viewing that can work on a Mac. Thanks for your help Mike. MacTrack specialises in tracking solutions for a variety of industries. We have a range of live GPS-tracking equipment that is suitable for any application.
To be honest, I preferred MicroSoft over X-Plane. I missed MFS so much, I bought an older version of Windows (6 or 7, I forget right now) and installed it using BootCamp. I loaded MSF onto Windows/BootCamp, and some things are a little quirky with that, such as keyboard commands.
I always seem to have more trouble than its worth, yet I'm addicted to flying and would love to have a setup that works for me. I don't know where to go from here. I can't believe there is no market form TrackIR in the Mac world.
Fixes • Fixed crash when resizing 3D view area to zero height. • User's Manual updated to reflect new system requirements and changes in behavior. Known Issues • The TrackIR software now requires Windows Vista or newer, and can no longer be used with Windows XP or below.

Thank you DominicS! Just the sort info I was looking for.

'Button0' on every device as identical. • The 2D camera view is now horizontally mirrored (similar to a standard webcam) for a more intuitive user experience.
Most people who use openCV in there open source projects fail to compile for any 64bit compatible chipsets or operateing systems. To the people saying its vista's fault, no sorry the whole blame vista thing was started by apple as a marketing slander campaign agenst all non-apple computers windows or not, and reality is most issues in vista are caused by poor third party software such as driver's rather then the operateing system it self.

Does Track IR work with War Thunder in Mac OS 10 or is it PC only? Hi Bobscott, TrakIR is Windows only. I have done a lot of research on head tracking for Mac and sorry to say that currently, Windows install on OS X partition plus War Thunder for Windows is the only practical way to get head tracking. TrackIR and all the alternatives will work this way.

Feature Enhancements • Joystick/controller hotkeys now correctly differentiate between devices, rather than treating e.g. 'Button0' on every device as identical. • The 2D camera view is now horizontally mirrored (similar to a standard webcam) for a more intuitive user experience. If desired, it's possible to revert to the previous behavior using the viewport context menu; see the manual for details.

Thank you DominicS! Just the sort info I was looking for. First, I will look into the FaceTrackNoIR.
Orientation “normal”. ___Model Setup tab I like the NPTrackClip instead of the Pro. It seems to work better and easier to mount.
(optional but I did it)- copy the contents of the the folder to a folder on your computer. I then placed that folder in my Applications area. Launch the itr_gui app. ___Device setup tab You are going to want download the latest firmware if it is not already installed. Just follow the prompts to do that. Then select the Tracking device as “TrackIR/SmartNav”.
The fact that there is no OSX support is a major downside for me. I've been using Track IR for about five years but my main computer these days is my macbook and my main game/sim has been X-Plane. In the past I've used X-Plane with my Track-IR in Windows but I'm dissapointed that it doesn't work with my new macbook. I'm sure I'm not the only Track-IR user out there who is making the switch from Windows to OSX and I'm sure the X-Plane communuty (which is growing massively since MS FS stopped development) has pleanty of potential Track IR customers.
I'm a fairly new real world pilot, (a little over 100 hrs) and I have to say, it is easier to fly a real plane than a Sim. Anyway, I was hoping, (now that I have a Mac) to keep things as simple as possible by sticking to X-Plane on the Mac OS and just getting use to that. Then BAAM!, I hear about TrackIR. One of my biggest pet peeves about sims is using views. You don't have to worry about that when flying a real plane, you just look where you want to look. Now I wish that I would have bought a powerful PC and started using Prepar3D. Its going to be awhile before I can do that.

Choose what you want. ___Misc Tab Click Install Xplane Plugin and be sure to choose the application “x-plane.app” (what you double click to start x-plane) I left all settings as “Default” because they work perfectly for me. ___Calibrating Go to the other GUI screen and click Start. You want to move the TrackIR so that your reflectors are as centered as possible. You should see total black and then your reflectors only. If there is something else in the picture, you need to get rid of that light source/reflective surface. I had to hang a thick blanket over a window behind me because the blinds and curtains weren’t enough to keep the sun light out enough for the TrackIR.
In prior versions of the software, this behavior would always occur. Fixes • Fixed an issue where certain settings (including template curves) might not be correctly migrated to per-user settings directory. • Fixed an issue where certain NVIDIA GPUs might step down to a lower power state while the TrackIR software was active.
I have not purchased TrackIR yet. I did send a message to the manufacturer and asked if TrackIR worked on a Mac and the answer was certainly not yes. They gave me a link to someone that buys a bunch of their TrackIR's, and than reprograms them to work on a Mac. I said, thanks, but no thanks. It sounded like too much trouble, and didn't want to mess with anything that was designed to. But I will look into the FaceTrackNoIR Thanks Mike.
I hope someone will find this intruction useful! Just purchased a TrackIr this past week and find myself very frustrated that no Mac driver exists. I was lured into buying one because in the Falcon 4.0 setup (for Mac) there was an indication, 'No TrackIr detected,' leading me to believe that in the Mac version of Falcon 4.0, TrackIr is supported. Not having a background in computer programming, I have had no luck with Linux Track as most of the terminology used regarding installation in all of the posts is meaningless to me. So I'm not sure where to go from here. If anyone can help, that would be so great.
