If you too need a tool that's light, easy to handle, won't ever run out of puff and just keeps on working unless there's a power cut, very, very highly recommended. Okay, so if you are looking for a corded version of an impact driver rather than an impact wrench--a tool designed with a quarter inch hex socket used for driving screws--then this is about the only thing out there and it may seem like you are stuck with it as the only option if you want reliable corded power. My problems with it are the following: it is too expensive for what it is. A corded drill of these specifications does not need to cost this much, even from Makita. The worst part about it, though, is it is relatively weak.

Buy two products. Get yourself a decent impact wrench, not a driver, as there are plenty available with superior torque to both this corded impact driver and battery drivers as well, while also coming in plug-in corded varieties. Then, buy yourself a 1/2 inch square shank to 1/4 inch hex socket adaptor. Go ahead and get one of the nicer adaptors and justify the expense with the money you will save on the drill. The one thing you need to watch out for is to make sure you get an impact wrench with variable speed and that has the correct impact action that would work for driving screws as not all impact approaches on impact wrenches would work for this.
